This quarter, at Kalori in Boyne Island, we closed our office doors across all our centers to gather for an all-staff training day. It was a day of learning, collaboration, and camaraderie, the first for our new General Manager, Jo Paringatai.
The privilege of an all-staff day allowed us to connect with colleagues from other teams. We shared experiences, insights, and knowledge. It was eye-opening to hear different perspectives and learn from each other.
Yvonne, from Meritos, shared her expertise on various communication behaviors. Her insights helped us understand how we can improve our interactions with colleagues, stakeholders, and clients.
The training day wasn’t just about serious discussions; it was also filled with laughter. As we learned together, we grew as individuals and as a team, strengthening our work relationships.
In addition to our collaborative training, we’re excited to participate in The Push-Up Challenge. This unique initiative promotes awareness and encourages positive mental health. Participants aim to complete 3,249 push-ups over 24 days, symbolizing the number of lives lost to suicide in Australia in 2022. By joining this challenge, we’re not only boosting our physical fitness but also supporting our two (2) headspace centres in Gladstone and Rockhampton, a vital program that improves mental health outcomes for young Australians. The funds raised will help pilot new programs, reduce stigma, and ensure that no one facing mental ill-health feels alone.
To our community, we say thank you. Thank you for allowing us to continue growing, adapting, and bettering ourselves. We’re committed to working together, learning together, to benefit you, our community.
