Roseberry QLD invites you to become a driving force in our mission to empower the Youth of Rockhampton. As a Mental Health Support Coordinator at Roseberry QLD (RQ), you will play a pivotal role in our Youth Enhanced Support Service (YESS) team. Our YESS program, under the national stepped care approach to mental health, is an assertive outreach Primary Mental Health Service, delivering support for young people aged 12 to 25 years experiencing, or at-risk of experiencing complex or severe mental health issues, under the stepped care approach within Central Queensland.

The YESS program focusses on providing high quality psychosocial clinical intervention and non-clinical care coordination. This program is designed to complement the existing services across the youth mental health sector, ensuring young people are provided the right care and support as soon as possible, to assist in improvements in a young person’s mental health, wellbeing and other presenting issues that may impact their mental health.

Your Impactful Role:

As the Mental Health Support Coordinator, you will be tasked with providing therapeutic case management and support coordination, to youth aged 12 to 25 years experiencing or at risk of experiencing severe and/or complex mental health challenges.  You will assist in supporting youth to develop a strong community support network, and to help navigate multiple service provider interventions. You will provide psychosocial supports which include implementing mental health recovery interventions within your scope of practice, and under the guidance of the Clinical Lead and Team Lead.

Collaboration and Advocacy:

  • Collaborate with key community agencies and referral partners to drive impactful change, including Child and Youth Mental Health services, advocating for the best interests of the young people we serve.

Qualifications and Attributes:

  • Diploma of Mental Health Support or similar; or an approved qualification in an allied health discipline including social work, psychology, mental health nursing or counselling that provides a sound understanding and knowledge of assessing and working with young people at risk (or working towards).
